Episode #89: How to monetize your Facebook group authentically [W2G Challenge]




Hey Mama!  And welcome to episode #89 of the Life by Design Podcast with Allison Hardy!

Today I want to share with you three ways that you can make money from your Facebook group.  The content that I'm sharing with you today is going to be super juicy because it really is the backbone of our businesses and our social media strategies.

Your Facebook should build your email list for you, on automate, for free, every single day.  

Your Facebook group members should be on your email list, and vice versa.  And here’s why:

  1. Facebook could go away tomorrow.  Do you still have a business? Relying on someone else’s platform to grow your business is unreasonable and unrealistic.
  2. Facebook’s algorithm could change AGAIN and your group becomes dead, just like Facebook Pages.

  3. The more touch points you have with a potential client, the more likely they are to buy from you.

  4. Social media changes, but email marketing is KING.  FB group stats vs. email open rate stats are staggering.

And your group is going to change.  As your group changes and grow, you'll notice some pretty significant changes in the content, engagement, and visibility of your group.

Scenario #1

Your group is under 1,000.
Your content gets seen and you, as the head of your group, are very visible.
People buy directly from your group.

Scenario #2

Your group is over 1,000.
Your content doesn’t get seen as much and your role changes from content creator, to community facilitator.
People buy directly from your email list.

You have a lead magnet, a freebie, whatever you want to call it that is GOOD.  You’ve poured your heart and soul into it and you’ve written this funnel that you KNOW is amazing.  So now what? How do you use your Facebook group to actually get people into your funnel?

  1. Put it as your cover photo.

  2. Offer it to them as a free gift when they request access.

  3. Promote it weekly via posts and FB Lives.

The more consistent you are in the promotion of it, the more people will opt-in, which means the more people will consume your content, which means that you'll make more sales, which means your business will grow!
